Hi, and welcome to our website. 

We hope you’ll find it interesting and informative, and that if you’re not already a member, you’ll want to join up when you’ve read all about us. 

The EDV part stands for EUMUNDI, DOONAN, VERRIERDALE but we also include the areas of South Perigian Beach (the area previously known as Weyba Downs), and Perigian Springs, or in other words, all those areas under the 4562 postcode. 

We’re an enthusiastic and active group who began in 2004, way back when our area was located in the northern tip of the old Maroochy shire – we wanted to be part of the then Noosa Shire because although we paid our Council rates to Maroochy, on a day-to-day basis, we spent our time in the Noosa shire.  Things like Doctors, Schools, Libraries, Movie Theatres, Restaurants, supermarkets, hardware and gardening items, were all located in the Noosa area.  And of course, we shared a common outlook on the environment/lifestyle with the then Noosa Council.

Although our original idea was to try and bring about a Council boundary change, in 2007   the state Government, in the face of heated and on-going opposition, amalgamated  the councils in Queensland and we suddenly became a tiny part of the Sunshine Coast Regional Council area.

Ultimately, we want to be an integral part of a new Greater Noosa Shire and are collaborating with Noosa Parks Association and the Noosa Biosphere Association to try and bring this about.
